Position Definition: The Cleaning Staff shall be responsible for all cleaning activities for CLIU #21 office locations.
Relationship: The Cleaning Staff shall be directly responsible to the Operations Manager.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
  • Experience in all aspects of cleaning buildings.
  • High school diploma or GED, preferred.

Skills/Knowledge:
  • Demonstrates the ability to understand and follow written instructions, work orders, and schedules.
  • Demonstrates the ability to exercise good judgment.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrates the ability to maintain complete confidentiality.
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrated by patience, understanding, and congeniality.
  • Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates the ability to organize, plan, and manage job responsibilities in order to complete assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrates the ability to complete tasks with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Attends work regularly at assigned work hours subject to lawful leave rights and responsibilities.

Physical:
  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, sit, lift, reach, communicate (vision, hearing, and speech), and convey sufficient weight to safely and effectively carry out functions, duties, and responsibilities.
  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment.
  • Ability to independently ambulate in and around work locations.

Authority: The Cleaning Staff will have the authority to perform all functions listed below in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Functions/Duties/Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function/duty/responsibility at acceptable standards. In accordance with both state and/or federal law, reasonable accommodations will be considered upon employee request.
Essential:
  • Cleans CLIU #21 office locations, including, but not limited to, rest rooms, floors, offices, conference rooms, kitchen areas, lobby, loading dock, and all-purpose room.
  • Disposes of all trash and recycling into dumpsters.
  • Works with the Operations Manager on semi-annual building cleaning projects.
  • Responsible for building security after building staff leaves the premises.

Secondary:
  • Makes coffee for groups and cleans up when finished.
  • Assists visitors who are using the facility in the evening.
