Job Title: Day Cleaning Associate
Location: Riverview Health Arena at Innovation Mile- 14157 CJ Way, Noblesville, IN 46060
Employer: Marquis Commercial Solutions
Position Type: Part-time; Hourly, Non-Exempt at $15.00/hour. Events are $17.00/hour.
Shift: Every week Monday and Tuesday from 8am-4:30pm, plus an additional day every other week (with evenings and weekends for overtime available)

For example: 

Week 1: Monday, Tuesday (16 hours) 

Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday (24 hours)
Reports To: Day Lead/Event Supervisor, Operations Manager


The Day Cleaning Associate (Day Porter) plays a key role in maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the building throughout the day. Responsibilities include dusting, spot vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, and cleaning entryways, elevators, common areas, stairwells, restrooms (including restocking supplies), hallways, and the janitor’s closet. The Day Porter must be able to respond promptly to last-minute requests from Property Management, tenants, and Marquis management while ensuring a smooth transition for the evening cleaning crew. Strong attention to detail, adaptability, and professionalism are essential for success in this role.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform a wide variety of cleaning tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, spot cleaning, and any other task assigned by the manager
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, including sinks, toilets, mirrors, and replenishing supplies (toilet paper, soap, etc.)
  • Empty trash cans around the building and dispose of waste in a safe and proper manner
  • Dust and wipe down furniture, windowsills, light fixtures, and other surfaces
  • Clean and disinfect high-touch areas such as door handles, light switches, and handrails
  • Maintain cleanliness of entrance and exit areas, including sweeping walkways and removing debris
  • Ensure cleaning supplies and chemicals are used in accordance with safety guidelines and company policies
  • Report any maintenance or safety issues to the Regional Manager
  • Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Ensure the building is kept safe from hazards such as slippery floors or blocked exit routes
  • Keep the Janitor's space in a neat and clean condition and maintain cleaning equipment in proper working condition
  • Adapt to changing policies, procedures, and/or duties as directed by management

Event Cleaning:

  • Assist with event setup and takedown processes, ensuring the venue is prepared before the event starts and returned to its original state afterward
  • Handle cleaning related customer service inquiries and resolve any issues that arise before, during, or after the event
    • We receive radio calls about spills and other cleaning related tasks during events
Qualifications:
  • Experience:
    • Previous custodial or janitorial experience is preferred but not required
    • Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
  • Skills:
    • Ability to work efficiently and prioritize tasks
    • Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
    • Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 lbs
    • Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods
    • Ability to work in a variety of environments, including indoors and outdoors (weather permitting)
    • Capable of using cleaning equipment such as vacuums, buffers, and floor scrubbers
  • Other Requirements:
    • Reliable transportation to and from the job site
    • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening (if required by the client)
    • Must be punctual, dependable, and maintain a positive attitude.
Working Conditions:
  • Schedule: This position requires occasional flexibility to complete necessary work.
  • Environment: The role involves cleaning various areas within the assigned building, including entryways, offices, hallways, restrooms, and common areas. Some outdoor work may be required.
  • Uniform: Company shirts and any required PPE (personal protective equipment) will be provided. Additional Marquis shirts/sweatshirts will be available for purchase at an additional cost. Khaki pants are also required in this role.
  • Training: On-the-job training will be provided to ensure proper use of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
