The Wisconsin Veterans Home at King (WVHK) is recruiting for several limited term employment (LTE) Custodians (Housekeepers) , to support our dedicated Custodial Services team. The Home is a 24/7/365 long-term care facility that provides comfort, support, and professional healthcare services to elderly or disabled veterans and their spouses. Our facility is on the picturesque shoreline of the Chain O'Lakes, off Highway 10, between Stevens Point and Appleton, Wisconsin.

Position Summary
Under the general supervision of the Custodial Services Supervisor and with day-to-day guidance of the Custodian-Lead, this position is responsible for the timely, scheduled or as needed, cleaning and sanitizing of assigned building patientcare and non-patientcare areas including but not limited to washing, dusting and mopping; operating power floor cleaning equipment; moving furniture; and performing limited grounds maintenance . All job duties are performed in accordance with standard safety principles and practices, following Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs (WDVA), Wisconsin Veterans Home (WVH), and Custodial Services policies and standard operating procedures.

Salary Information
Starting wage is $17.01 per hour with additional compensation for nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime. (pay structure, differential, any additional applicable pay provisions).
This job does not offer employee benefits.
Custodian is in pay schedule-pay range 03-08.
This position is not represented by a bargaining unit.
Job Details
LTE jobs have no guaranteed hours or shifts.
LTE jobs are limited to 1039 hours in a 12-month period, are based on operational need, and can end at any time.
LTE's will be filling in for vacations and covering vacancies in a 24/7 facility including weekends and holidays. This position is primarily responsible for cleaning and sanitizing member rooms and common areas.
General work hours: 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., 7:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., 11:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday. Flexibility available with scheduled hours on weekdays. Weekend and Holiday work hours: 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Physical and environmental conditions and requirements include, but are not limited to:
- Climbing, reaching and bending
- Performing sustained physical activity
- Occasionally exerting more than 100 pounds of force
- Occasional work on step ladder.
- Ability to work around members in their home environment.

Due to the nature of the position, WDVA will conduct a criminal background check prior to an offer of employment.
Employment in this position is contingent upon passing a pre-employment tuberculosis (TB) skin test.
Qualifications

The
required qualification that will be reviewedis experience performing paid or unpaid work.
In addition to the required qualifications please list any experience you have with the following:
- cleaning and using cleaning products; and
- following written and verbal instructions including work assignment changes; and
- working cooperatively and communicating with others; and
- following safety procedures and using personal protective equipment (PPE) including while using chemical cleaning agents; and/or
- performing custodial tasks and using custodial equipment and tools; and/or
- following sanitizing procedures and using chemical sanitizing agents; and/or
- problem solving
