Job description

General Cleaner

We are currently hiring for a Part-Time General Cleaner position located on the east side of Madison, starting at $15.00 per hour. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. We are seeking dependable, detail-oriented candidates with prior cleaning experience who are able to follow scientific laboratory signage. After completing training, the cleaner will independently manage an assigned cleaning route.

Reliable personal transportation is required, as the location is not accessible by public transportation. Free on-site parking is provided.

Duties include dusting, wet mopping, collecting trash and recycling, cleaning the breakroom, wiping tables, and restocking condiments. Must be comfortable working in a warehouse environment and able to wear steel-toe shoes as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:• Dust and clean surfaces including desks, cabinet tops, partitions, and other areas.• Empty trash and recycling containers and transport materials to designated disposal areas.• Sweep and wet mop hard-surface floors.• Vacuum carpets and floors using upright vacuums and/or backpack vacuums.• Perform spot cleaning on carpets as needed.• Clean interior glass surfaces.• Clean and disinfect sinks, countertops, toilets, mirrors, floors, and other restroom fixtures.• Maintain restroom cleanliness and ensure supplies are fully stocked.• Polish metal fixtures and fittings.• Job duties and assigned work areas may change at the discretion of management or based on customer needs.• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.• Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift while performing assigned duties.• Must be able to bend, lift, carry, reach, and extend arms above shoulder level frequently in an active work environment.• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 25 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.• Comfortable working with cleaning chemicals and supplies.• Reliable transportation is required.• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are preferred.
