Job description

Sr. AEO/SEO Strategist

Conductor LLC New York, New York, United States

About this position

About Conductor:

Conductor is the leading enterprise AEO platform. Today’s top enterprise brands use Conductor to grow authority and visibility in both AI and traditional search engines. From tracking visibility in LLMs to real-time monitoring of technical site health and scaled AI content creation, Conductor provides a single source of truth that fuels digital growth—all from one platform.

Conductor is a mission-driven company with a commitment to innovation, customer success, and culture. For Conductor, success is improving the lives of everyone in our orbit—our customers, our customers' customers, our employee-owners, and our communities.

As a Senior AEO/SEO Strategist, you'll be a part of the Customer Success organization within Conductor, leading efforts to identify risks and opportunities across our largest and most strategic customers. In this role, you'll act as a trusted advisor alongside customer account teams during vital points in their lifecycle with Conductor, driving successful partnerships and renewals while mentoring others on best practices.

A day in the life....

  • Lead the identification of key customers at risk to achieving their outcomes by uncovering trends across at-risk accounts, and own the development of playbooks that enable account teams to proactively identify and act on solutions to mitigate risk.
  • On our most strategic and complex customers, serve as a senior consultant to understand their SEO, content, and web operations, strategic priorities, and develop tailored strategic success plans and recommendations that drive clear, measurable outcomes in line with customer priorities.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Customer Success and Sales leadership to identify key customer challenges, opportunities, and renewal risk, and drive remediation efforts across internal stakeholder groups to mitigate risk of loss on high-value accounts.
  • Champion the use of AI tools to create efficiencies in day-to-day processes, both internally and for customers, and help shape best practices that other team members can adopt.
  • Take a consultative, senior-level approach to develop scalable strategic solutions across Conductor's products and services that drive customer outcomes, reduce churn, and demonstrate long-term account growth.
  • Provide advanced analysis and leverage AI tools to build customer dashboards that surface key insights into customer business and account performance.
  • Drive engagement with executive sponsors, acting as a strategic voice to facilitate enablement and adoption of key solutions across organizations.
  • Craft and present strategic plans and business cases at the executive level to demonstrate the value of our partnership and build alignment on key Conductor solutions.
  • Serve as a mentor and go-to resource for other Strategists, sharing SEO/AEO expertise, elevating team capability, and contributing to internal enablement or training initiatives.

We're excited about you if you have....

  • Deep SEO/AEO Expertise: 5+ years of experience in digital marketing, with at least 3 years specifically focused on SEO/AEO (agency or in-house). You have a deep understanding of the "how" and "why" behind organic search and can speak credibly to both practitioners and executives.
  • Technical Fluency: You have experience leading comprehensive website audits and are confident making — and defending — advanced technical optimization recommendations.
  • A Results-Driven, Strategic Mindset: You can provide actionable insights, prioritize them by impact, and confidently push back on client strategies with informed alternative recommendations, even in high-stakes or executive conversations.
  • AI Proficiency: You use AI tools to create efficiencies in your day-to-day activities and your work for clients, and can guide others on how to do the same.
  • Data Literacy: You are comfortable working with and extracting insights from data sets using Excel/Google Sheets, LLMs like Gemini and Claude, as well as other tools.
  • Executive-Level Communication Skills: You can clearly explain SEO/AEO concepts and strategic recommendations to internal and external teams, senior leadership, and executive sponsors, in both verbal and written formats.
  • A Continuous Learner Mentality: The search landscape changes weekly. You actively follow industry blogs and are considered a go-to resource on how AI and LLMs are shifting the future of SEO.
  • Organization, Ownership & Leadership: You have a track record of managing your own book of strategic accounts across multiple projects, take pride in meeting deadlines and delivering clean, accurate work, and are comfortable mentoring or informally guiding less experienced team members.

The future of work is transformed at Conductor, and we don’t just use AI - we weave it into everything we do. We prioritize hiring individuals who stay ahead of the curve, seeking "AI leading" talent who are curious, adaptable, and skilled at utilizing AI to amplify their specific roles. Because we are committed to this tech-forward environment, every candidate’s journey includes a dedicated assessment of their AI literacy and competency by a specialized panel of experts to ensure you are ready to thrive and lead at Conductor.

Compensation: Conductor maintains competitive, performance-based compensation programs.

The NYC base salary range for this role is currently $105,000 - $120,000 per year. Placement within that range will be dependent on experience. Variable Compensation: In addition to the base salary, this role is also eligible for a variable bonus. This role operates on a 90/10 split.

Conductor LLC is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. Bringing in diverse perspectives and challenging our assumptions is the clear key to growth; it drives innovation, creativity, faster problem-solving, and stronger decision making. All aspects of employment including the decision to hire, promote, train, discipline, or discharge, will be based on merit, competence, performance, and business needs.
