Job description

QUALITY CONTROL TECHNICIAN
Monday - Friday Mandatory overtime as needed
6:00 am - 6:00 pm
$20.00 - $23.00 per hour for an entry-level position
$24.00- $27 per hour for extensive experience

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Perform in-process and final quality inspections of fabricated, welded, and machined components and equipment.
  • Conduct dimensional inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMMs, and other precision measuring instruments.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and inspection requirements.
  • Inspect and verify weld quality in accordance with applicable AWS/ASME standards and customer specifications.
  • Accurately document inspection results, measurements, and nonconformances.
  • Identify, document, and properly tag nonconforming materials or components.
  • Assist with corrective actions and root cause analysis related to quality issues.
  • Maintain accurate quality records and inspection documentation.
  • Follow established quality, safety, and plant procedures while maintaining a clean and organized inspection area.
  • Wear required PPE and work safely around manufacturing equipment and machinery.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certification in Quality, Manufacturing, or Welding Inspection preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of quality control or inspection experience in heavy manufacturing, industrial fabrication, oilfield equipment, or a similar environment.
  • Working knowledge of AWS and/or ASME codes and standards preferred.
  • Experience reading blueprints, engineering drawings, and dimensional specifications.
  • Experience using precision measuring and inspection equipment, including calipers and micrometers; CMM experience preferred.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and quality or ERP software.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and safely work around heavy equipment and machinery.
