Kitchen Guard Phoenix is a premier provider of commercial kitchen exhaust system cleaning, maintenance, and compliance solutions. We partner with restaurants and commercial facilities to ensure their systems meet NFPA 96 standards, operate efficiently, and remain fire-safe.

We are seeking a highly skilled, experienced technician with a background in commercial electrical, HVAC, or mechanical systems. This is not an entry-level role โ€” we are looking for someone who can step in and execute at a high level immediately.

What Youโ€™ll Be Doing

Install hinge kits on upblast exhaust fans for proper access and compliance

Install access panels and access ports on duct systems (NFPA 96 compliance)

Replace and extend electrical whips to meet code and safety requirements

Perform preventative maintenance on rooftop exhaust fans (belts, bearings, housings)

Test and diagnose fan motors (amp draws, performance issues, failure prevention)

Troubleshoot and repair commercial kitchen exhaust systems

Work with systems including CaptiveAire and similar commercial equipment

Support ongoing maintenance programs for restaurant and facility clients

Requirements (Must Have)

Active electrical license

Proof of insurance required

Certificate of Insurance (COI) must be provided prior to starting work

Proven experience working on commercial equipment (not residential)

Strong mechanical, electrical, or HVAC background

Ability to work independently and complete jobs correctly the first time

Comfortable working on roofs, ladders, and in active commercial environments

Preferred (Strong Plus)

HVAC certification or advanced experience

Experience with commercial kitchen exhaust systems

Familiarity with CaptiveAire or similar systems

Experience with motor diagnostics and preventative maintenance programs

Work Structure & Compensation

1099 Contractor position

Flexible scheduling with consistent work available

Optional additional income through emergency and weekend jobs

Compensation includes:

Hourly rate

Plus per job / service call pay (agreed upon in advance)

Why Work With Kitchen Guard Phoenix

Consistent, high-value commercial work โ€” not random handyman jobs

Clear scope focused on compliance, performance, and equipment longevity

Organized systems and steady pipeline from inspections and service work

Opportunity to become a long-term, go-to technician for ongoing repairs and installs

Work with a company focused on doing things the right way, not cutting corners
