Baron Education/DriveSafe Driving Schools operates the largest network of driver's education schools in Colorado, serving thousands of students per year at our 12 DriveSafe locations. Job Purpose

Teach students driving laws, regulations, and techniques while in a classroom setting. Provide accurate and detailed knowledge of the rules of the road. Create an interactive and positive learning environment. Work with team members to ensure a smooth learning experience.

Responsibilities

  • Instruct students while in a classroom using the DriveSafe Approach.
  • Prepare for each class according to policies and procedures.
  • Complete and handle state mandated paperwork accurately.
  • Work with team members to manage special circumstances.
  • Clean the classroom at the end of each shift.
  • Submit available hours in a timely manner according to policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • 23 years of age or older
  • Colorado Driver's License
  • Safe driving history - a Motor Vehicle Record check will be reviewed
  • Applicants must pass a criminal background check
  • College Degree or comparablework experience
  • 2+ years classroom instruction experience preferred
  • State teacher certification a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to work with teens and adults in a teaching or mentoring role.
  • Ability to effectively manage a classroom of teenagers.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Organized and able to work independently.
  • Responsible and dependable.
  • Good judgment and professionalism

Physical Requirements

The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation. Classroom Instructors present driver's education material in front of a classroom for long periods of time up to 4 hours in length.

Job Details

This position requires the availability and flexibility to work weekends during school year; and weekdays or weekends during the summer. Right now we are staffing for our busy Summer season and looking for capable Classroom Instructors to work weekdays between 8 and 40 hours per week during High School break (approximately May through August - flexible start/end dates for seasonal employees), and we also have part-time positions year-round (up to 16 hours per week) for those interested in working weekend shifts. We accept applications year-round at our 12 DriveSafe locations, however availability may be based on seasonal and business demands.Please review the DriveSafe Locations map at this link. What is expected in the hiring process?

  • We accept initial applicants through quick-apply, requiring only basic contact information and a current resume. If you are selected to move forward based on these qualifications, you will be asked to meet with a member of our HR team via Microsoft Teams video call for an initial 30-minute interview.
  • Candidates that are selected to move forward are asked to submit a full job application including authorization for background check.
  • Candidates are asked to prepare a 10-minute teaching demonstration on a topic of their choice utilizing guidelines provided.
  • Second round interviews will then be conducted with the Hiring Manager and a member of the HR Team including additional interview questions and presentation of the teaching demonstration.
  • As a pre-employment step, candidates are asked to provide a copy of their 7-Year Motor Vehicle Record to demonstrate safe driving history.
