2026-2027 School Year
PK-8th Grade Music Teacher - Part-Time (3 days a week)
Holy Cross Academy is seeking a dedicated, faith-filled PreK through Grade 8 Music Teacher to join our professional learning community. The ideal candidate will inspire students to develop a lifelong appreciation for music while cultivating joy, discipline, creativity, and reverence through the study and performance of music.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach general music to students in PreK through Grade 8, using age-appropriate and engaging instructional methods
  • Develop students' understanding of music literacy, including rhythm, melody, harmony, notation, form, and music history
  • Introduce students to the works of great composers and the rich tradition of Western classical music while incorporating sacred music and hymnody
  • Collaborate with faculty and administration to integrate music into the life and mission of the school
  • Foster a classroom environment that encourages creativity, discipline, collaboration, and joyful participation
  • Assess student progress and communicate effectively with parents regarding student growth
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, school liturgies, and community events
  • Support and uphold the mission of Catholic education through the integration of faith and virtue in daily instruction
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events
  • Support the social, emotional, and spiritual development of students

Qualifications

  • Valid teaching certification or eligibility for certification
  • Experience teaching music preferred
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills
  • Commitment to Catholic education and willingness to support the mission of the Church
  • Practicing Catholic preferred (all candidates supportive of Catholic teachings are encouraged to apply)
