Position Title: Logistics Helper
Job Identification:
• Immediate Supervisor: Logistics Manager.
• EEOC Class: Laborers and Helpers.
• FLSA Status: Non-Exempt.
Wage: $17.90 Hourly
Job Summary:
The Logistics Helper is responsible for assisting drivers in safely directing and backing up vehicles. Responsible for safely and efficiently loading and unloading goods and donations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Directs the driver when backing up or driving through difficult entrances.
• Properly handles storage and security of goods and donations.
• Assists driver in loading and unloading goods.
• Inspects equipment prior to leaving facility. Reports all defects to supervisor or manager.
• Properly follows OSHA specifications regarding lockout/tagout procedures.
• Loads and unloads goods and materials properly and securely, using specialized equipment when warranted. Returns all equipment to designated area.
• Conducts self in a safe manner; works cooperatively as a team with driver to prevent bodily injuries and property damages.
• Performs other related duties as assigned that would lead to successful operation of department, team and/or mission.
Requirements:
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Able to communicate effectively and courteously with the public and coworkers.
• Able to follow instructions quickly and always in a safe manner.
• Wear appropriate protective footwear.
• Familiar with route. Able to read map and use GPS.
• Visual acuity.
• Demonstrates reliable attendance.
• Able to work Monday through Sunday, any hours specified by management.
• Knowledgeable about company's mission and services, and customer-related policies.
Physical Requirements:
• Must work in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to lift/pull/push 50-75 pounds at times.
• Ability to bend/squat/stoop.
• Ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods of time.
• Free from drug and alcohol abuse.
Required Experience:
• Forklift Certified. To be trained within 30 days.

• Telephone.
• Computer.
• Forklift.
• Compactor and Tipper (Hydraulic Equipment.)
Personal Protective Equipment Used - Assigned at orientation/as needed:
• Safety belt
• Face mask
• Hand sanitizer (available at worksite)
