What is a Class F driving license?

A Class F driving license is a type of driver's license in Ontario, Canada, that allows you to operate regular, non-school buses carrying up to 24 passengers, as well as ambulances and other similar vehicles. It is commonly required for shuttle drivers, transit operators, and some healthcare transport positions. To obtain a Class F license, you must be at least 18 years old, hold a valid Ontario G class license or higher, pass a knowledge test, and complete a medical exam. Additional road and vision tests may also be required. This license helps ensure drivers are qualified to safely operate passenger vehicles in public settings.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Class F driver?

To thrive as a Class F Driver, you need a valid Class F driver's license, a solid driving record, and knowledge of transportation regulations and vehicle safety. Familiarity with vehicle inspection procedures, GPS navigation systems, and logbook management is typically required. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and reliability are important soft skills for interacting with passengers or clients and maintaining schedules. These skills and qualities ensure safe, efficient, and professional transportation services in compliance with legal standards.

Class F drivers often transport passengers or operate vehicles such as ambulances, buses, or large vans, which come with unique challenges like managing passenger safety and handling stressful driving conditions. New hires may encounter situations such as navigating busy routes, responding to unexpected passenger needs, or adhering to strict schedules.
