Job description

Class E - Box Truck Driver

Reports to: Department Supervisor at specific Business Unit

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Schedule: Monday through Friday. Overtime as needed.

Primary duties and responsibilities:

  • Operating a Box Truck to transport manufactured goods on a planned route between Niles Plant Locations and Benton Harbor, MI.
  • Position requires loading and unloading trucks and material handling duties when not driving.
  • The driver is responsible for the safety, cleanliness and upkeep of the truck.
  • The driver will also be responsible for assuring that the proper paperwork is filled out daily and reported in a timely manner.
  • The driver is to represent Modineer on the road and at our customers and vendors professionally at all times.
  • There is no overnight travel involved.

Education, prior work experience and specialized skills and knowledge:

  • Position requires a current Class E license
  • Must be able to pass a written and practical fork truck test.
  • Must be able to perform all required Modineer production system documentation such and production reports, inspection reports, etc.
  • Good Attendance (must have less than 5 chargeable absences).
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.

Physical environment/working conditions:

The position is in the factory and could involve sitting, standing, walking and lifting for long periods of time throughout the day.
