Job description

Local Runs. Daily Home Time. Consistent Intermodal Freight.

We're hiring experienced Class A CDL drivers for a local intermodal operation offering daily home time and consistent freight.

Drivers move intermodal containers between rail ramps and customer locations, with a combination of drop-and-hook and preloaded freight. This is a fast-paced local operation where drivers typically complete multiple loads each day.

No driver-assist unloading is required.

What Your Workday Looks Like

Drivers typically complete 3โ€“8 loads per day , depending on freight volume and routing.

The operation includes:

  • Local intermodal container freight
  • Home daily
  • Approximately 3โ€“8 loads per day
  • Drop-and-hook freight
  • Preloaded freight
  • Live load and live unload freight
  • Approximately 1,000 miles per week
  • No driver-assist loads
  • Intermodal containers placed on bare chassis at the rail ramp
Schedule

This is a night-shift position with daily home time.

Available schedules may include:

Sundayโ€“Thursday
or
Tuesdayโ€“Saturday

Weekend work is required. Holiday work may be optional depending on freight and customer needs.

Drivers should be prepared for approximately 60โ€“70 working hours per week.

Compensation

Drivers are paid:

  • $15.00 per hour
  • $12.50 per stop
  • Approximately $24.50 per load based on an average of two stops per load

Average weekly earnings typically range from approximately $1,300โ€“$1,700 , depending on hours, loads, stops, and productivity.

Actual earnings will vary based on workload, schedule, stops, and other applicable pay factors.

Driver Qualifications

Applicants must:

  • Hold a valid Class A CDL
  • Have at least 6 months of recent, verifiable Class A tractor-trailer experience
  • Have a Hazmat endorsement
  • Be comfortable operating intermodal containers and chassis
  • Be able to work the required night and weekend schedule
  • Meet all applicable DOT qualification requirements
  • Be authorized to work in the United States
