What is a class c delivery?

Class C Delivery drivers are professional drivers who operate vehicles that require a Class C commercial driver's license (CDL). These vehicles are typically smaller than Class A or B vehicles and may include vans, small trucks, or vehicles used to transport hazardous materials in limited quantities. Class C drivers are responsible for safely delivering goods, often within a local or regional area, and may handle tasks such as loading, unloading, and verifying shipments. Their work ensures timely and accurate delivery of products to businesses or customers.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a class c delivery driver?

To thrive as a Class C Delivery Driver, you need a valid Class C driver's license, a clean driving record, and basic knowledge of local routes and delivery procedures. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems, handheld delivery scanners, and electronic logging devices is typically required. Reliability, time management, and strong customer service skills help you stand out in this position. These skills ensure timely, safe, and accurate deliveries, contributing to customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

What are some common challenges faced by class c delivery drivers, and how can they be managed effectively?

Class C Delivery drivers often encounter challenges such as navigating unfamiliar routes, managing tight delivery schedules, and handling heavy or bulky items. To manage these effectively, drivers can use GPS navigation tools, plan their routes in advance, and maintain clear communication with dispatchers and customers to handle unexpected delays. Additionally, practicing safe lifting techniques and staying organized with delivery paperwork can help reduce stress and prevent injuries on the job.

Class B/C Delivery Driver

Company Overview

NE Tech Air is a sheet metal and HVAC-focused company that relies on precise coordination between our fabrication shop, field crews, and delivery team to keep projects on track. Our drivers are a key part of that connection, making sure the right materials arrive at the right job sites at the right time.

We build our team on accountability, communication, and safety. When we make a commitment to a customer or a coworker, we follow through. If you take pride in doing things the right way and being someone others can count on, you will feel at home here.

We are 100% employee owned. Every employee receives shares in the company through our ESOP at no cost to them.

The Opportunity

As a Class B/C Delivery Driver with NE Tech Air, you are more than a driver. You are the link between our shop and active job sites, delivering ductwork, sheet metal, and equipment that keeps field crews productive and jobs moving forward.

This role is ideal for a professional driver who values safety, reliability, and clear communication, wants steady full-time work, and appreciates being part of a team that notices and respects strong performance.

What You'll Do
  • Safely transport ductwork, sheet metal materials, and equipment from our fabrication shop to multiple job sites each day based on scheduled routes.
  • Complete thorough pre-trip inspections, safety checks, and required DOT documentation before leaving the yard and throughout your shift.
  • Maintain full DOT compliance, including accurate driving logs and adherence to all safety and company policies.
  • Communicate clearly with dispatch and field teams about delivery timing, site conditions, and any issues that could impact schedules.
  • Assist with unloading, verifying materials on-site, and keeping your truck clean, organized, and properly maintained.
What Success Looks Like
  • Within your first 36 months, you consistently complete assigned routes safely and on time, with accurate paperwork and no preventable incidents.
  • Field crews and dispatch know they can rely on you for clear updates, proactive problem-solving, and professional communication.
  • Your truck and equipment pass inspections regularly, with maintenance issues identified and reported early.
  • By the end of your first year, you are a go-to driver for complex routes, changing schedules, and high-priority deliveries.
What We're Looking For
  • Valid Class B or Class C driver's license with a clean driving record and no DUIs or reckless driving history.
  • Commercial driving experience (2+ years preferred), including safe operation of trucks and securing loads.
  • Ability to perform physical work, including safely lifting and moving materials up to 50 pounds and assisting with unloading.
  • Dependable, safety-focused mindset with strong communication skills and comfort using GPS and mobile logging systems.
Compensation and Benefits
  • $21$25 per hour, based on experience.
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage; 401(k) with company match; paid time off; end-of-year bonus opportunities; ongoing training and career growth.
  • Full-time role with a strong team environment.
  • Early morning start times, typically before 6:00 AM.
