Job description

Class B Driver

The Feeding Tampa Bay Class B driver is responsible for delivering product to agencies and scheduled pickup sites, and picking up product from donors within the state of Florida.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

  • Perform pre-trip inspection of tractor and trailer. Report any defects immediately to the supervisor.
  • Pick up product from donors and obtain a signature or stamp on the route report.
  • Complete truck inspection information reports.
  • Deliver loads to agencies and drop products at predetermined sites for agency pickup.
  • Check product deliveries and pick tickets for order/load accuracy.
  • Secure signature from agency/donor at drops and pickups.
  • Complete driver paperwork reconciling pickups and drop-offs.
  • Maintain a hygienic environment inside and outside of tractors and trailers
  • Fill out the mileage log, consisting of times and mileage to all stops.
  • Debrief with supervisor regarding route conditions and executions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Valid Class B commercial driver's license.
  • Clean driving record.
  • At least 2 years of driving experience.
  • Certified in the use of electrically powered forklifts and pallet jacks, or willingness to obtain within the first 30 days of employment.
  • Food safety certification, or willingness to obtain, within the first 30 days of employment.
  • Ongoing lifting/lowering, push, pull, and carrying boxes/packages weighing up to 50 lbs. for 8-to-10 hour shifts
  • Work in an environment that will contain variable temperatures and humidity, exposure to noise, dust/dirt
  • Bend, stop, crouch, climb, stand, sit, walk, and turn/pivot.
  • Drivers must be able to maintain three points of contact—two hands and one foot or two feet and one hand—while climbing steps, handholds, ladders, or other equipment.
  • Must pass level 2 background through the Hillsborough County school district
