Job description

Description:

We are currently looking for experienced and dependable Commercial Class A Route Drivers to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service and demonstrate integrity and diligence in all interactions. In this role as a Commercial Class A Route Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transport of goods to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries to our local restaurant clients.

Please review the duties and qualifications listed below before applying. This position requires more than just "bumping the dock" – you will also be responsible for unloading, unpacking pallets, and delivering products to designated restaurants.


Essential Functions:

  • Accurately check invoices as you make deliveries.
  • Load and unload products from trailer while operating lift gate with electric or manual pallet jack.
  • Be able to use a tablet for Descartes, Geotab and POD.
  • Attention to detail in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
  • Perform superior customer service as you interact with customers at each delivery.
  • Assist in issuing credit memos and collecting payment for COD customers.
  • Promote and maintain a flexible, cooperative, team-oriented, and customer-focused attitude with colleagues.
  • Available to work split days off.
  • Professionally maintained, reliable and safe equipment.
  • Palletized products are delivered to customers with a lift gate and a hand truck.
  • All other duties as requested or assigned.
Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Class A with 2-year minimum experience driving tractor with 48 or 28’ trailer.
  • Per DOT rules, applicant should have the ability to read and understand English.
  • Satisfactory driving record.
  • Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license issued by the state of legal residence with proper endorsements if required.
  • No more than two convictions in the past two-year period for traffic violations, no DUI convictions in the past three years, and no driver’s license suspensions in the past three years.
  • Minimum of two years of commercial driving experience (any industry) and 6 months of driving experience in the food and beverage delivery industry required.
  • Must be able to pass DOT physical.


Physical Requirements:

  • While performing job duties, the associate will be required to move frequently, stand, walk, and sit.
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs repeatedly.
  • The associate must be able to operate a motor vehicle and safely and frequently enter/exit the vehicle as well as the rear cargo area.
