Description

The CDL driver's role is to transport goods from vendors to all Nellis Auction properties. The CDL driver should perform all duties within the confines of the Federal Regulations and State laws in a SAFE and efficient manner.


To ensure success as a CDL driver, you should pay close attention to the types and quantities of stock being delivered to avoid company losses. An exceptional CDL driver will be able to drive safely in all conditions, regardless of the time of day all while demonstrating the Company's Core Values.


The Logistics Manager, pending location, will manage CDL Drivers.



RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Determining the details, pickup locations, and destinations, of all deliveries.
  • Collecting, loading stock and inspections of loads in a manner that prevents breakage where applicable.
  • Informing clients and your manager of potential delays.
  • Recording of accurate driving statuses within ELD and managing rest breaks accordingly in a timely fashion.
  • Delivering all goods in an efficient and safe manner.
  • Utilizing appropriate tools, Cargo, Google Sheets and MOTIVE ELD, to record accurate runs, trailer locations and driving status.
  • Completing, storing, and submitting all necessary documentation and BOL's. (Bill of Lading)
  • Keeping track of all reasonable expenses and submitting proof thereof to obtain refunds.
  • Reporting all vehicle-related issues for urgent attention.
  • Inspections of tractors, trailers, and the accurate reporting of conditions.
  • Ensuring that the truck always has sufficient fuel.
  • Ability to drop and hook trailers in a safe and efficient manner consistently throughout the day.
  • Liaising with Logistics Managers

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED Required.
  • 2 years of solid CDL driving experience required. 2 years OTR preferred.
  • Current Interstate Class A CDL.
  • Ability to run state to state in a safe and timely fashion.
  • Clean DMV and CDL record. Preferred no accidents or citations.
  • Current Medical card.
  • Experience operating similar vehicles for work purposes, Day cab tractor and 53' trailer.
  • Comfortable using ELD (Electronic Logging Device) equipment.
  • Ensuring that you are always fit to maneuver the truck.
  • Compliance with all DOT, road and FMCSA Regulations.
  • Ability to drive safely, irrespective of the weather or time of day, utilizing discretion when it comes to safely operating in certain weather conditions.
  • Being Bilingual is a plus.
  • Ability to be on your feet for the majority of the day.
  • Able to communicate effectively in a positive fashion with English as the primary language.
  • Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-50lbs occasionally lift and over 50lbs, two or more team members.
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment and work as a Team.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
  • Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.
