Job description

ABOUT THE POSITION The Clark County Water Reclamation District is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Utility HVAC Technician position. This position will be primarily responsible for: Troubleshooting/diagnosing electrical and mechanical related problems. Repairing and maintaining HVAC/R equipment in a commercial/industrial environment.

Reading line diagrams/schematics and blueprint drawings. Working with other trades to complete necessary work. Welding, soldering and braze piping.

Working independently and making decisions as to the repair or replacement of HVAC/R equipment. Click here to view a complete description of the job classification. The interview process for this particular position may include a practical examination; therefore, all interviews are required in-person, no virtual interviews will be permitted.

The recruitment will establish an Open Competitive Eligibility list to fill current and/or future vacancies that may occur within the next six (6) months or may be extended as needed by Human Resources. Human Resources reserves the right to call only the most qualified applicants to the selection process. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Qualifying education and experience must be clearly documented in the "Education" and "Work Experience" sections of the application.

Do not substitute a resume for your application or write "see attached resume" on your application. Education and Experience: High School diploma or equivalent. One (1) year full-time experience in HVAC trades.

Experience in an industrial or plant setting preferred. Completion of HVAC trade school or apprenticeship program. Equivalent combination of formal education and appropriate related experience may be considered.

Licenses/Certifications: Must possess a valid Nevada Class C driver's license at time of application. Must possess or be able to obtain Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) 608 (Universal) certification. Must possess or be able to obtain Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10 certification.

Background Investigation: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation. Additional background investigations may be conducted periodically after employment. Pre-Employment Drug Testing: Employment is contingent upon the results of a pre-employment drug examination.
