The Design Engineering Organization at H2C is seeking a Structural Engineer. In this position, you will perform in-house design scope, support design reviews of media from external architectural and engineering firms and assist in maintaining design standards and procedures.

The Structural Engineer will perform the following.

  • Apply technical principles, theories, and concepts;
  • Prepare conceptual, preliminary and final design engineering documents for new and existing structures, systems and components;
  • Perform structural analysis and calculations;
  • Prepare technical reports and evaluations;
  • Review designs, plans and shop drawings;
  • Provide construction services, field inspections and investigations;
  • Perform structural analysis using STAAD.Pro, RISA, MathCad and other software as needed;
  • Apply working knowledge of IBC, ASCE, AISC, ASTM, ACI and other structural codes, manuals and standards to engineering design;
  • Coordinate work with other engineering and technical disciplines, and be adept in working with various clients and their representatives;
  • May function as a group design technical lead and assist line management and project delivery managers with development of technical work plans and design execution;
  • May be a participant on special assignment as assigned by supervisor; and
  • Perform tasks as assigned, obtaining guidance and help, as needed.
Required Qualifications

Grade 18:
BS Degree in Civil Engineering or related technical discipline and 6 years of directly related experience.

Grade 19:
BS Degree in Civil Engineering or related technical discipline and 8 years of directly related experience.

Note the essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility is larger, and the expected level of performance is increased.

Grade 20:
BS Degree in Civil Engineering or related technical discipline and 10 years of directly related experience.

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with nuclear application of Engineering tasks.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills needed to facilitate project milestones.
  • 3+ years of combined experience in design, analysis, inspections of buildings and related structures.
  • Experienced in use of IBC, ASCE, AISC, ASTM, ACI and related structural codes and standards.
  • Proficient in use of MathCad, RISA, STAAD.Pro and SmartPlant Foundation (SPF) software.
  • EIT, PE and/or SE License.
Compensation & Benefits

In accordance with the company's philosophy on compensation for exempt and salaried non-exempt employees, H2C takes into consideration a variety of factors when determining initial grade and salary to include assigned job scope and responsibility, a candidate's qualifications as compared to internal comparators performing in a similar role, and the external labor market. A salary offer will be made at the appropriate grade level and within the targeted hiring range posted according to these factors. Note a candidate's prior salary history will not be taken into consideration.

Hiring Range Minimum: $109,013

Hiring Range Maximum: $166,263
