Duties Overview

As a Senior Structural Project Manager, you will be working independently, but also working under the direct supervision of the Engineer of Record for assigned projects. In this role, you'll lead the structural team in engineering and drafting tasks, providing structural design expertise to project members. You'll oversee project coordination internally and externally with other disciplines, ensuring seamless collaboration with architecture, MEP, and more. During the Construction Administration Phase, you'll manage projects, review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, conduct site visits, and attend OAC meetings as needed. Your Responsibilities:
  • Participate in coordination meetings with other disciplines and design review sessions with supervisors, clients, and owners.
  • Coordinate the design process to meet project schedules and budgets, ensuring completion of construction documents.
  • Develop structural specifications, construction procedures, material selections, and calculations for design integrity.
  • Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and manage change proposals and orders, incorporating revisions into project documents.
  • Effectively communicate design and coordination details to team members through reports, memos, and email correspondence.
  • Conduct site observations and walks during construction phases, producing detailed reports based on observations.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a Structural emphasis; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Structural Engineering license (S.E.) required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive structural engineering experience. (Depending on the years of experience, this role can be a Director title)
  • Three or more years of leadership experience in multi-discipline project teams preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Building Codes and design codes.
  • Experience in K-12 project experience required.
  • Proficiency in structural engineering software and office tools such as ETABS, SAFE, RISA, RAM, ENERCALC, Excel, and Bluebeam.
  • Expertise in designing various structural materials including steel, concrete, masonry, and wood.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
