Job description

About the role:

As a Senior Civil Structural Engineer you will support civil and structural design activities like structural systems evaluation for steel members, reinforced concrete and composite steel, resolving technical issues for design of building structures.

You will report to the Manager of BOP Design and Module Fabrication Support for Building Engineering & Physical Design. You will work a hybrid scenario at the discretion of the manager based in Rock Hill, SC..

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop infrastructure projects, such as roads, bridges, and buildings, ensuring safety and efficiency
  • Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with design specifications
  • Evaluate structural systems like steel members, reinforced concrete, composite steel
  • Resolve technical issues for building structure design, fabrication , assembly and construction phases
  • Technical justification for design changes and emergent issues and troubleshooting
  • On-site support at utilities, sites and smaller projects
  • Use ANSYS, LS-DYNA, GTSTRUDL
  • Maintain software compliance records and closure of engineering corrective actions
  • Learn industry civil/structural codes and standards like ACI, AISC, ASCE and AWS
  • Sketches and markups using AutoCAD or similar CAD
  • Document design change proposals, document revisions, new documents and drawing generation
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or structural Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience civil/structural
  • Civil/structural evaluations, design engineering
  • Interested in nuclear and interested in pursuing FE/EIT, PE certification
  • Tools such as ANSYS, LS-DYNA, GTSTRUDL or similar
