If so, and you want to work for a firm that is taking concrete action toward equity, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace, we are looking for a Structural Designer to join our team in Irvine and work with our Civic, Education, and Healthcare markets to provide structural analysis support to project teams.  

An ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of the design, detailing, and construction of concrete, masonry, steel, and wood structures of all types and sizes and their associated analysis methods, and have a passion for learning and professional growth. As a Structural Designer, you will…

  • Provide structural analysis, calculations, and design support as assigned from sketches, verbal, or written instructions.
  • Assist with the production of structural construction documents, including drawings and specifications and project management and administration.
  • Develop an understanding of structural construction document organization and production and learn building design and construction terminology.
  • Develop time-management skills, complete tasks accurately and on schedule, and take initiative to seek out guidance or additional tasks as needed.
  • Learn and adhere to office standards of design, quality control, and production.
  • Develop organizational skills, maintain a detail-oriented approach, and collaborate effectively with a variety of individuals.

The Must-Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited engineering program in Architectural Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Civil Engineering (with a structural emphasis). Preference will be given to engineering programs that meet the recommended NCSEA Structural Engineering Curriculum.
  • 2-4 years structural design experience
  • Intermediate skills in Revit to provide software support
  • Intermediate computer and software skills including MS Office

The Like-to-Haves 

  • Structural internship experience preferred
  • Structural software experience with Bluebeam, ETABS, Enercalc, Risa, or SAP
  • Engineer in Training
