Job description

Summary
Provost & Pritchard is offering opportunities for associate and senior civil engineers with a diversity of experience working on transportation projects for public agencies and private developers. Candidates must have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to build relationships and work closely with clients, and work in multidisciplinary project design teams. The ideal candidate will have a general understanding of how to use AutoCAD Civil 3D tools to put together roadway plans. The candidate will have experience working on design and construction projects involving grading, paving, and drainage with the ability to solve problems independently and in a team environment.
Candidates must demonstrate an understanding of civil engineering design for transportation projects and be able to apply their knowledge in a practical manner. We work on a variety of transportation projects ranging from roadway/trail design to pavement rehabilitation to pedestrian and bicycle improvements. We work with a diverse group of cities and counties throughout the San Joaquin Valley. Serious candidates must have an interest and/or experience in areas such as:
  • Pavement Design
  • Grading and Drainage Design
  • Accessibility Design of sidewalks, curb ramps, and other pedestrian improvements
  • Horizontal and Vertical Design of Roadway/Trail Alignment
  • Signing and Striping Design

Qualifications
For Associate level candidates:
  • Must hold an active California PE license or licensed in another state and be willing to sit for CA license within 6 months of hire.
  • Bachelor's Degree in civil engineering
  • 5 years of experience preparing transportation construction documents, specifications, engineering calculations and conducting research in support of infrastructure-related designs and/or studies.
  • Have a general understanding of ADA compliance and implementation
  • Excellent AutoCAD skills; experience with Civil 3D, vehicle simulation, and storm & sanitary sewer analysis is a plus.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

For Senior level candidates:
  • Must hold an active California PE license or licensed in another state and be willing to sit for CA license within 6 months of hire.
  • Bachelor's Degree in civil engineering
  • 10 years of experience designing and preparing transportation construction documents, specifications, engineering calculations and conducting research in support of infrastructure-related designs and/or studies.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing projects.
  • Have a general understanding of ADA compliance and implementation.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
