Job description

CBCL is seeking an Intermediate Civil Engineer with municipal infrastructure experience to join our Fredericton team. In this role, you will collaborate with design and construction professionals on challenging projects, help shape our workplace culture, and take a lead role in delivering exceptional results for our clients throughout the design process.

Your role with CBCL:

As our ideal candidate, you have experience in all phases of project delivery and management, including studies, concept design, detail design, and construction administration. You have technical knowledge and interest in infrastructure in the following areas: water distribution, wastewater collection and pumping, stormwater management, site grading, residential/industrial/commercial site developments, and contract administration. In this role you will design and manage projects as well as clients.

We are seeking individuals who are excited to participate with an established team of professional engineers and technologists in developing innovative multidisciplinary design solutions with an emphasis on client satisfaction.

More specifically, you will:

  • Develop conceptual, preliminary and detailed designs for the full range of civil/municipal infrastructure;
  • Prepare tender packages including drawings and contract specifications;
  • Provide input into construction cost estimates;
  • Perform contract administration duties;
  • Manage projects to meet budget and deliverables;
  • Meet and liaise with clients;
  • Prepare technical reports and proposals; and
  • Have an interest in business development and client management.

  • 4+ years of relevant experience;
  • Interest in municipal and heavy civil construction projects;
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and SWMM is considered an asset;

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills;
  • Ability to work on multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment; and
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel occasionally.

To meet pay transparency requirements, compensation ranges are included for roles in locations where required by law. The salary range listed for this position represents the expected hiring range; actual starting compensation will vary based on factors such as professional experience, technical expertise, credentials, and alignment with the role's requirements, as well as internal compensation structures and market data.
