Senior Civil Engineer – Transportation Group

STV is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer for the Transportation Group in Los Angeles, CA.

Description

The Civil Engineer will play a key role in the planning, design, and execution of various civil engineering projects. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 15 years of hands‑on experience in civil engineering. The successful candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the successful completion of projects, meeting high‑quality standards, and adhering to project timelines.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage civil engineering projects from conceptualization through to completion, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and project specifications.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, site investigations, and risk assessments to inform project design and development.
  • Provide technical expertise in areas of transportation design to guide project teams and ensure engineering solutions align with industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with architects, planners, and other stakeholders to integrate various project elements seamlessly.
  • Prepare and review detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for accuracy and compliance.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior and mid‑level engineers and team members, fostering a collaborative and knowledge‑sharing environment.
  • Interface with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to address project‑related issues and ensure project success.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Minimum of 15+ years of progressive experience in civil engineering, with a focus on plans, specifications and estimates development.
  • Proven track record of successful project management and delivery of complex civil engineering projects.
  • Strong proficiency in relevant engineering software and tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Commitment to staying abreast of industry trends and incorporating innovative solutions into projects.
