Purpose of Position

The Director of Business Intelligence & Analytics leads the enterprise‑wide BI&A strategy and ensures the organization consistently leverages data to drive fact‑based decision making. This role oversees analytics capabilities across all divisions, guiding the development of advanced analytical solutions, predictive modeling, and operational insights. The Director establishes analytical governance, drives cross‑functional alignment, and partners with senior leaders to translate organizational priorities into scalable analytical frameworks.

Tasks and Responsibilities

The following duties are essential to the successful and satisfactory performance of this job.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provide strategic leadership for the BI&A function across all divisions, setting the vision, priorities, and roadmap for enterprise analytics.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop managers, senior analysts, and technical teams; foster a culture of curiosity, continuous improvement, and analytical rigor.
  • Partner with senior leadership to understand business needs and deliver advanced analytics, modeling, and reporting solutions that influence decisions at the enterprise level.
  • Oversee the design and development of predictive models, simulations, optimization tools, and data frameworks supporting civil operations, manufacturing, and defense business requirements.
  • Establish BI&A governance practices including data quality standards, modeling methodologies, and reporting consistency across divisions.
  • Collaborate across finance, operations, IT, and business units to integrate data solutions that support growth, margin, efficiency, and resource optimization.
  • Drive analytics related to profitability, risk mitigation, contractual compliance, production efficiency, and operational performance across diverse business models.
  • Serve as the primary SME for advanced analytics trends, tooling, and emerging technologies; identify opportunities to modernize and scale BI&A capabilities.
  • Ensure the BI&A organization delivers clear, concise, and actionable insights through high‑quality communication, visualization, and executive‑level storytelling.
  • Manage analytic project portfolios, resource allocation, and prioritization across divisions with shifting business needs.
Minimum Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Analytics, Finance, Business Administration, or Engineering.

  • Master's Degree, preferred.
Minimum Experience
  • 10+ years of experience in analytics for decision support.
  • Experience supporting government contracting or manufacturing, preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
    • Experience working with business leaders /executives in decision support analytics.
    • Strong verbal and written presentation skills
    • Knowledge of advanced modeling techniques, simulations, optimization, statics, or mathematics
    • Experience developing compelling data visualizations, dashboards, and reporting.
    • Ability to partner and influence analytic objectives.
    • Demonstrated curiosity about how and why things are done.

    • Initiative, confidence, and the drive to achieve results without explicit direction or detailed instruction.

    • Working knowledge of BI platforms, software and languages such as Databricks, Power BI, Tableau, SAS and/or Python.
