Job description

We are currently seeking a Civil Engineer to join our Linear Municipal Infrastructure team. Our team specializes in the critical networks that keep a community moving and connected, including water mains, sanitary sewers, stormwater systems, and roadways. 

This is a new position and is based at our Windsor office. We offer flexible work hours and hybrid work arrangement options to help balance the competing demands of work and personal life.

Project Management & Design

  • Manage civil engineering team activities and support project managers / technical staff in the delivery of multidisciplinary projects across the company.
  • Lead design team(s) on a variety of municipal and land development infrastructure projects related to water supply, sewers, roads, site servicing and waste management.
  • Lead and provide technical direction of functional design, detailed design for the development of construction documents and specifications for tendering and construction.
  • Lead construction administration of civil projects including road, sewer, water supply, stormwater management and others.
  • We empower our teams to automate the routine so they can focus on high-value, creative problem-solving. You will be encouraged to experiment with AI-enabled tools to push the boundaries of traditional design.

Business Development

  • Identify and develop of new business opportunities.
  • Lead the maintenance of existing client relationships, including preparation of proposals and statement of qualification.
  • Business travel to other Dillon offices upon request.

What you will need to succeed

  • A degree in civil engineering.
  • Licensed to practice as a professional engineer in the Province of Ontario, or eligible to be licensed within six months.
  • Five yearsโ€™ professional work experience in municipal / infrastructure engineering. 

  • Demonstrated success in the leadership of multidisciplinary project teams and business development.
  • Experienced in the design and construction management of various municipal infrastructure including water supply systems, sewage systems, roadways, stormwater management works, underground and surface site servicing works, and/or waste management facilities.
  • Experience with trenchless technologies and applications would be an asset.
  • In depth knowledge of contract administration services and requirements.
  • Expert knowledge of municipal servicing standards and environmental approvals requirements.
  • Demonstrated skills in public and agency consultation.
  • Strong proficiency in proposal and report writing, presentations, communications, organization and interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of current AutoCAD software; working knowledge of Civil 3D software will be considered an asset.

Compensation:

$75,000 - $125,000

Dillon is including the salary range that we in good faith believe may offer for this position. It will be dependent on the successful applicantโ€™s education, experience, and skills, in addition to internal equity and geographic region. Dillon reserves the right to pay outside of the posted range, contingent on factors unrelated to an applicantโ€™s gender or other status protected by provincial and/or federal law.
