Job description

Weston & Sampson is seeking a Senior Project Manager or Project Manager with at least 7 years of experience in our Albany, New York office location. This individual will lead project teams on Civil Engineering projects.

What you’ll do:

  • Supervise and lead project teams in the conduct of engineering reports, field studies, and designs, utilizing recognized industry standards and regulatory-compliant approaches.
  • Provide hands-on leadership working side by side with our engineering staff to complete challenging engineering and construction projects.
  • The candidate will be expected to be flexible in terms of handling multiple assignments, work directly with clients to understand needs and to advance project planning and design assignments.
  • Pursue new work opportunities through established client relationship, market sector awareness, and competitive pursuits, including participation in proposal development and interviews/presentations.
  • Assess opportunities and define project scope, schedule, and fee, as well as determine work procedures, staffing, and sub-consultant assignments.
  • Participate in company sponsored training programs, seminars, professional organizations and technical committees
  • Collaborate and build strong working relationships with internal multi-disciplinary teams

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or similar engineering degree.
  • Possess and maintain a New York State Professional Engineering License, in good standing.
  • 7 to 15 years of relevant experience working with municipal clients in engineering or project management roles.
  • Experience in managing multiple projects and clients, along with the associated administrative, budgetary, and financial tracking/profitability aspects of projects.
  • Adept at interpersonal relationship building, team leadership, and mentoring.
  • Possessing high ethical standards, committed to producing high quality work, with a commitment to teamwork, respect and integrity.
  • Preferred work experience will include AutoCAD/MicroStation/REVIT drafting; civil/site design; infrastructure/utility planning, modeling, and design.
  • Exemplary communication skills, including verbal, written, and public presentation.
  • Working proficiency in Microsoft 365.
  • Some travel may be required, must have a valid driver’s license
    Salary Range: $125,000 - $165,000k.
