About the Role

We're looking for a skilled and motivated Civil Engineer-in-Training to join our Kamloops office.The role will include working on municipal engineering projects including water, sanitary sewer, and stormwater systems, road and transportation improvements, site preparation and earthworks, and subdivision and development projects.

You'll be part of a close-knit group of experienced personnel, including specialist engineers, client managers, and project managers, all dedicated to ensuring your success. Key Responsibilities


  • Civil design, project management and contract administration.
  • Assisting professional engineers in carrying out technical tasks requiring accuracy in calculations, completeness of data and adherence to prescribed analysis, design, or computational requirements.
  • Completing water system modeling (WaterCAD) and sanitary sewer and stormwater modeling (PCSWMM).
  • Preparing technical memos, design reports, and presenting findings to clients.
  • Preparation of project specifications and cost estimates.
  • Drafting and design using AutoCAD and Civil3D software.
  • Supporting the work of senior engineers and other technical staff appointed to the project.
  • Travel within the Interior and Central Interior.
  • Field work such as facility site inspections and construction inspections and documentation.


About You

  • Experience: 0-5 years of relevant professional experience
  • Professional Qualifications: Registered (or able to be registered) as an EIT with EGBC
  • Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of water system hydraulics, open channel and pipe flow, transportation and road design
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Good research and technical writing skills.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to define problems, prioritize tasks, and maintain a community-driven perspective.
  • Innovative Spirit: Genuine curiosity, a desire to innovate, and expand personal and company knowledge.


Other Requirements include:

  • A Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Civil Engineering or similar
  • Computer competency, experience with Civil 3D, WaterCAD, PCSWMM, or GIS should be highlighted
  • A valid Class 5 B.C. Drivers Licence

The annual salary range for this position is $65,000 - $90,000 depending on experience.
