B.H. Inc., of Vernal, Utah, is searching for a full-time Civil Engineering Manager to plan and successfully design moderate to complex projects while managing an engineering team to facilitate the successful accomplishment of project goals and objectives. This position will be based out of our Vernal, Utah Corporate office.

If you have what we're looking for, your salary is highly negotiable and could exceed our range of $140,000 - $180,000 DOE. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A CIVIL ENGINEER
  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering and an active Professional Engineer (PE) license, backed by 7+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Client & Regulatory Management: Extensive experience managing public and private clients on medium-to-complex projects, as well as navigating local, state, and federal government permitting processes.
  • Leadership & Autonomy: Demonstrated ability to lead and build engineering teams while successfully self-managing workloads and project schedules.
  • Business Development & Project Operations: Highly skilled in executing business development tasks, preparing cost and scope of work proposals, and contracting/managing sub-consultants.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of project management delivery tools (e.g., Asana, Trend Logs) with preferred experience in Civil Design Software (Civil 3D, Infraworks, Revit, Hydrology/Survey software, etc.).

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CIVIL ENGINEER

As the Civil Engineering Manager within our engineering division, you will work with a range of differing projects. You will pay attention to detail and be proficient in gathering project details and communicating project requirements with owners, sub-consultants, reviewing or permitting jurisdictions, and construction teams. You play an essential part in performing engineering calculations, creating construction plans and details, following design codes and governmental regulations, preparing reports, creating engineering models using engineering software, building a team, training, managing projects, interfacing with clients, and performing business development tasks.

In addition, as a civil engineering manager, you will be responsible for a diverse range of tasks. These could include work related to all disciplines of Civil Engineering (civil, structural, hydrology, hydraulics, soils). Experience working with AutoCAD Civil 3D is highly preferred, as this software will be a minimum weekly, if not daily. In addition, experience with Revit, Autodesk Storm & Sanitary Analysis, and other engineering software programs desirable.
