Dewberry is currently seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to join our Civil department in our Baltimore, MD office to work on a variety of projects for clients within the commercial and energy sector. Typical projects involve site/civil design for commercial and energy infrastructure site development and capital improvement projects.

Responsibilities
  • Site/civil engineering including grading design, roadway design, storm water management systems design, utility (water, sewer, gas, electirical, storm drain etc.) design, traffic control and erosion and sediment control design.
  • Preparation of all associated calculations, reports and spreadsheets.
  • Field work including site visits for survey and natural resource reconnaissance, construction observation, photo documentation, parking counts, etc.
  • Working on design teams in all aspects of a given project to develop detailed design documents for construction plans.
  • May also conduct code research, write specifications, and assist in permitting activities.

Required Skills & Required Experience
  • Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering required with an expected graduation between December 2027 - May 2028
  • Previous internship experience preferred.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft office is required.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.

Salary Range

During the summer intern program, interns gain hands-on project experience, develop technical skills, and put their classroom knowledge into action.
