Job Summary
Chloeta is hiring a Professional Civil Engineer to support Federal facilities and infrastructure projects. This role supports a broad range of architectural and engineering (A/E) services, including planning, design, construction administration, inspection, general and environmental studies, value engineering, energy conservation design practices, and project management support for new construction, renovations, and infrastructure improvements on Federal lands. The Civil Engineer works collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, sustainable, and compliant site and infrastructure solutions that meet federal and agency-specific requirements.

Job Classification: 1099 Independent Subcontractor
Duty Station: Region 8: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia
Travel: Up to 10%, Contingent upon business needs
Duties/Responsibilities
  • Provides civil engineering planning, analysis, and design for federal facilities and infrastructure

  • Prepares design drawings, specifications, calculations, reports, and cost estimates in accordance with agency standards and federal design criteria

  • Conducts site assessments and civil infrastructure evaluations to support renovations, upgrades, and deferred maintenance projects

  • Coordinates with environmental studies and permitting efforts, including NEPA-related considerations, erosion control, and stormwater compliance

  • Collaborates with architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, geotechnical, and environmental disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery

Required Skills/Abilities
  • Supports designs for site civil and infrastructure systems for commercial, institutional, or public-sector facilities

  • Knowledge of federal design standards, environmental compliance requirements, and civil engineering codes

  • Proficiency with engineering and design software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience supporting federal agencies

  • Familiarity with construction administration and field inspection on federal projects.

Education and Experience
  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related

  • Required: At least Two (2) years of professional engineering experience

  • Required: Professional Engineer (PE) license in any of the following states: Region 8- Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia

Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk for report preparation and computer work.

  • Routine use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and GPS/GIS equipment

  • Travel to Federal facilities and project sites may be required
