Overview

Position Type Full Time

Bridge & Highway Superintendent

The Heavy Civil Construction Superintendent is responsible for overall field leadership of large-scale earthwork and site development projects throughout the United States. This role provides strategic oversight of multiple crews and subcontractors, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Must be willing to relocate to Missouri.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide full field oversight for large earthmoving and site development projects.
  • Develop and execute project schedules in coordination with Project Managers.
  • Oversee grading, mass excavation, utility installation, and site infrastructure operations.
  • Lead Foremen and field teams to achieve productivity, safety, and quality targets.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company safety policies.
  • Manage subcontractors and coordinate with engineers and inspectors.
  • Monitor project budgets, production rates, and cost controls.
  • Conduct regular progress meetings and provide leadership updates.
  • Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence across project sites.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10+ years of heavy civil construction experience, with 5+ years in a supervisory role.
  • Extensive experience in large-scale earthwork and site development projects.
  • Strong understanding of project scheduling, cost control, and production management.
  • Ability to interpret plans, specifications, and contracts.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team development skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively and work nationwide.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screenings: physical, drug, and background.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to navigate active construction sites safely.
  • Ability to work extended hours and travel as required.
