Job description

  • Hargrove Engineers & Constructors is seeking an experienced Civil Designer IV to join our team. In this role, you will support a variety of industrial, site development, and infrastructure projects by developing civil design deliverables, site layouts, grading plans, utility systems, and stormwater management solutions.

    Working under the direction of Civil Engineers and Lead Designers, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering designs from concept through construction.     Education
    • Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Computer-Aided Drafting, or a related field required.
    Experience
    • 8 to 10 years of relevant civil design experience preferred.
    • Industrial civil/site or utility design experience strongly preferred.
    • Experience in commercial, government, or infrastructure projects may also be considered.
    Key Responsibilities
    • Develop civil engineering construction and permitting drawings for projects ranging from small modifications to large capital developments.
    • Design site grading, stormwater management systems, drainage improvements, and utility infrastructure.
    • Create and maintain surface models, pipe networks, pressure pipe networks, and earthwork calculations.
    • Develop conceptual site layouts and assist with project planning and cost studies.
    • Coordinate project coordinate systems and collaborate with engineering and design teams.
    • Perform field investigations, collect site data, verify existing conditions, and provide construction support as needed.
    • Conduct land development and zoning research for civil site projects.
    • Review and check design drawings, calculations, and related project documentation.
    • Apply company drafting standards and best practices to all project work.
    • Effectively communicate technical concepts and design solutions with project teams and clients.
    Qualifications
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is required.
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Strong understanding of grading plans, drainage systems, utility layouts, and earthwork calculations.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
    • Experience supporting virtual teams and collaborating across multiple offices.
    • Knowledge of MicroStation is a plus.
    • Experience with Revit and/or BIM is a plus.
    • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record required.
    • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
