Description:

The Security Manager - Operations works closely with the Security Administrations Manager and supports the Director of Security by leading all daily security related business needs to include Security Ambassador development, patrol operations, incident response and emergency management for Memorial City Mall and other MetroNational properties. The position promotes the safety and well-being of employees, tenants, and guests while ensuring security related policies and procedures are established, updated, and executed. The manager works closely with security ambassadors and provides subject matter expertise while ensuring training and brand service standards are achieved.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the overall security program and operations including the training and development of security personnel, execution of security policies, and implementation of physical security measures
  • Ensures data is properly captured and input in the Security Incident Management System. Shall conduct follow-up training with Security staff as necessary.
  • Assists with administering personnel policies involving hiring, daily supervision, evaluation, disciplinary action, payroll, and conflict resolution on a day-to-day basis
  • Assist the Director of Security and Director of Training & Compliance with training development, policy enforcement and quality improvement/assurance requirements.
  • Develop comprehensive reports for review by the Director of Security concerning inventory of supplies and equipment, brand service standards and guest experiences.
  • Shall ensure all company-issued equipment is in a best-in-class condition to include patrol vehicles, golf carts, bicycles, uniforms, etc. Shall maintain all service and inventory records for all equipment
  • Inspect and review the activities of subordinates, equipment, property condition, and maintain all records
  • Provide oversight of inspections and review of daily activities of Security Supervisors, Bike Patrol and Security Ambassadors.
  • Shall make initial decisions as the highest-ranking security official in the absence of the Security Director
  • Responds to Critical Incident scenes that have the potential to or have escalated to physical or possible life threating Incidents. Assist the Security Supervisor or Police Officers on scene assuring proper service standards, property code of conduct, company guidelines, and State guidelines are maintained
  • Ensures the MetroNational Brand Service standards expectations are met by all team members
  • Participate in periodic in-service training and situational briefings.
  • Additional duties as assigned by manager
Requirements:

Education and Required Experience

  • High School Diploma required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Previous experience in retail environments is preferred.
  • 1+ year of Security Supervisor experience
  • Knowledge of commercial building practices and systems, HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems


Skills, Qualifications and Other Requirements

  • Proven administrative, management and leadership abilities.
  • A demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and assignments to achieve desired outcomes within established time schedules, to work well with others and to function calmly and effectively during times of emergency are required.
  • Good analytical skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general technical procedures or government regulations.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Must be fully aware of the nature of the assets at risk and the policies relating to their protection.
  • Effective organization, problem solving and presentation skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, supervise, train and direct a mall security operations team and contracted services; effectively communicate with tenants, vendors, clients and employees.
  • Familiar with the methods of risk assessment and security audits.
  • Exercises good judgement and initiative.
  • Working knowledge of computer software and Microsoft office
