Job description

Rome Health is seeking Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to join our growing primary care practice.

At Rome Health, we believe that truly great health systems should shape, sustain and support everyone who walks through their doors. That's why we have the best doctors, technicians and caregivers in the region working with top-of-the-line technology to bring the most-current, experienced and empathetic care to right where you are. Rome Health is a hub of excellence in the center of the community. You will be practicing in an environment where you can make an impact, where you can deliver the very best healthcare to the people who reside in the City of Rome and the surrounding rural communities in Oneida County.

Our Mission at Rome Health is to provide quality healthcare with compassion. Rome Health serves a population of approximately 80,000 in the Rome, NY area and its surrounding communities. We are a comprehensive health care system with 130 acute care beds, an 80-bed skilled nursing facility, four primary care clinics, and specialty practices including orthopedics, obstetrics & gynecology, general and bariatric surgery, urology, pulmonology, neurology, and wound care, and a broad array of outpatient services.

Through a strategic affiliation with St. Joseph's Health in Syracuse, Rome Health is in the unique position to collaborate with regional and national health system resources at the same time as retaining the flexibility and agility of an independent community health system.

Rome Health has enjoyed a unique position of growth and stability over the past few years, and is currently engaged in projects to expand surgical services and operating suites, enhance obstetrical services, update inpatient units, and expand access to primary care services. Our award-winning long-term care, obstetrical, and emergency services have been recognized regionally and nationally, with a CMS five-star rating for our Residential Health Care Facility, Newsweek's Best Maternity Hospitals recognition of our obstetrical services, and American Heart Association Gold Plus award for our emergency department.

Rome Health's primary care practices have been approved as a qualifying service commitment site for New York State's Healthcare Access Loan Repayment (HEALR) program. Eligible providers with outstanding education debt may apply individually for loan repayment awards if they commit to serving full-time for four years from the date of the award. NPs are eligible for up to $50,000. Awards are limited. The deadline to apply for the HEALR program is 11:59 p.m. Sunday, February 15, 2026.
