ASSIGNED TO THE CITY OF CONROE SOUTHWEST WASTEWATER PLANT
JOB SUMMARY
The Wastewater Plant Operator performs duties in the operations, maintenance and repairs necessary at the wastewater treatment plant.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
Minimum three years of experience in operation and maintenance of municipal wastewater treatment plant.
Special Requirements:
Must possess a valid Texas Class "B" commercial driver's license within six months of hire. Current class "C" Wastewater Certification issued by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. Ability to lift weights of 50 pounds alone and up to 100 pounds with assistance. On call 24/7 every set period of time.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of and ability to drive heavy construction equipment.
  • Knowledge of computer software and programs.
  • Knowledge of operations, maintenance and repair of wastewater pumps and control system.
  • Knowledge of City of Conroe's policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of safe working conditions and procedures.
  • Skill in communicating well with supervisors, subordinates and public.
  • Skill in good communication.
  • Skill in using attitude, tact and courtesy necessary to deal with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to operate various types of hand and precision tools.
  • Ability to climb in and out of confined areas.
