Standard operating hours are Monday through Friday, 1st shift 5:30am - 2:30pm, 2nd shift 2:30pm - 10:30pm (dependent on department). Shift times are subject to change. Overtime may be required (Saturdays) with regular Sunday overtime for Sanitation department. Job Description Summary Responsible for preparing ingredients and inspecting cheese to assure proper preparation of batching, in accordance to formulas. Will assist with other areas in the processing department. Essential Duties and Responsibilities General Duties Consistently follows all standard operating procedures, including ensuring appropriate machine settings, reporting and general corrective actions to resolve operational issues. Responsible for successfully meeting established KPI's. Accurately completes all production paperwork, weights, measures and reporting. Identifies and understands issues, problems, and opportunities. Uses effective approaches for choosing course of action and/or development of solutions. Knows how and when to apply technical skills or procedures and performs complex tasks in area of expertise. Assists in various areas in the processing department. Removes all adultered cheese such as mold, mush or any substance that would contaminate to the finished product. Responsible for the proper batching per the formula. Inspection of raw cheese for quality as required for batching. Responsible for proper rotation and use of all raw cheese and trim. Is responsible, as necessary for the inventory of raw materials. All other duties as assigned. Safety, Environmental and Quality Follows all safety rules and procedures by working safely and ensuring safety of others. Follows all environmental protocols as applicable to the job. Follows all Good Manufacturing Practices as stated within the policy. Follow all food safety procedures. Maintains a sanitary and safe work area; performs housekeeping duties as necessary and/or required. Detects potentially hazardous conditions and problems and takes appropriate action to report and/or correct. Knowledge and Experience Requirements High School diploma or equivalent is preferred. Previous work experience in a food manufacturing facility is preferred. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal in English.
