Orientation and Mobility Specialist - Redwood City, CA

Make up to $70/hour Helping Students Build Safe, Confident Travel Skills in Redwood City, CA We're hiring a part-time Orientation and Mobility (O&M) Specialist to support students who are blind or low vision in Redwood City, CA. Your Role:

  • Conduct functional travel assessments and write measurable O&M goals
  • Teach safe travel skills including cane techniques, street crossings, public transit use, and route planning
  • Train students to use low vision and navigation tools such as monoculars, tactile maps, and GPS apps
  • Coordinate community-based lessons and collaborate closely with families and school teams
  • Document services clearly so time stays focused on instruction and student growth

Schedule:

  • Part-time, in person
  • Student-centered scheduling within the school day
  • Start date: as soon as available

What You'll Need:

  • COMS or NOMC certification
  • Recent school-based or pediatric O&M experience
  • Strong safety judgment, communication, and planning skills
