Complex Litigation Associate Attorney

Direct Counsel is seeking a Complex Litigation Associate Attorney to join a prestigious Am Law firm in Austin, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Houston, Irvine (Orange County), Los Angeles, Miami, New York City, Portland, Sacramento, San Francisco, Santa Monica, Seattle, Silicon Valley (Menlo Park), or Washington, D.C.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an attorney with 3-6 years of complex litigation experience to join a nationally recognized Complex Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice. The team represents clients in sophisticated, high-stakes disputes across a variety of industries, including technology, financial services, life sciences, and energy, handling matters from initial case strategy through trial.

Responsibilities
  • Represent clients in complex commercial litigation and dispute resolution matters from case inception through trial.

  • Handle matters involving commercial disputes, trade secret litigation, financial services litigation, energy disputes, and product liability litigation.

  • Manage all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, trial preparation, and trial.

  • Take and defend depositions, prepare witnesses, and appear in court for hearings and other proceedings.

  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and other substantive litigation documents.

  • Conduct sophisticated legal research and develop litigation strategies for complex disputes.

  • Work directly with clients to provide strategic legal advice and case management.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on high-profile, fast-paced litigation matters.

Qualifications
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.

  • Active membership in the state bar of the office where the attorney will be located is strongly preferred.

  • 3-6 years of complex litigation experience at a major law firm.

  • Experience handling commercial litigation, trade secret disputes, financial services litigation, energy litigation, product liability, or other complex civil matters.

  • Excellent legal research, analytical, drafting, and oral advocacy skills.

  • Strong academic credentials.

  • Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Highly motivated with the ability to manage complex matters independently while working collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Salary: $260,000-$390,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
