Network/System AdministratorOur client, a boutique law firm in Chicago is looking for a Network Systems Admin to join its team. This individual will be responsible for Windows Server support, VMware virtualization, system/server backups and monitoring, software support, hardware support and corporate email administrator. This individual will ensure that hardware, software and operating systems all operate smoothly at all times and also handle desktop and printing support. This individual will be a self-starter who takes initiative and is proactive and service-oriented. This individual will be able to solve problems via telephone and be available to work non-regular hours. This individual will have excellent communication skills and have the patience to work with users of all skill levels.Responsibilities- Windows Server Support: Design, configure, install and maintain current Windows network environment, including installation, upgrades and maintenance. - Perform system/server monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources and systems. - Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up. - Install new and rebuild existing servers in VMWare environment. - Administer and maintain Microsoft Exchange 2010. - Provide user support – investigate and troubleshoot issues, and document these problems and their resolutions. - Administer anti-virus software. - Keep current with the latest PC hardware and software technology and use this knowledge for improvements in the firm's productivity in the offices and in off-site locations. - Support off-site computers, laptops and printers, and telephones and smart phones. - Support a small suburban satellite office. - Maintain and edit the firm's website. - Provide after-hours night and weekend support. - Design, configure, install and maintain desktop asset management and imaging. - Administer and maintain the SQL server. - Support the following server technologies: SQL, Citrix, Active Directory Domain Controllers and group policy. - Maintain and act as the firm's point person for vendor relationships for copiers, telephones, cellular phones, internet service, hardware and software vendors.Requirements- Five (5) years of PC and LAN/WAN experience, Windows Server, VMware, Exchange, Active Directory, Backups, Patches, Anti-Virus, systems monitoring and desktop support. - Citrix and iManage Experience strongly preferred. - Prior IT experience in law firm strongly preferred. - Knowledge of network switches and routers and wireless access points. - Experience and mastery of MS Office support and Windows licensing issues. - Knowledge and mastery of Watchguard Firewall and Spam Filters.
