Job Summary:
Unissant delivers innovative capabilities to the agencies that keep our nation healthy and safe. They are seeking an AI Data Scientist to support federal customer initiatives by designing machine learning models and analyzing complex datasets to improve citizen experiences.
Responsibilities:
• Design and implement machine learning models, Gen-AI (LLM) and NLP models, and statistical methods to solve complex business challenges.
• Build scalable solutions for predictive modeling, optimization, and decision support.
• Analyze large and complex data sets to uncover trends, generate actionable insights, and support data-driven strategies.
• Communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (internally, with partners and with customers) to collect and interpret data.
• Explore and apply cutting-edge AI/ML techniques to enhance analytical capabilities and deliver measurable impact.
• Design and produce compelling data visualizations and interactive dashboards.
• Transform complex findings into intuitive visual reports and dashboards to facilitate understanding for non-technical audiences.
• Stay updated with the latest trends in data visualization and integrate innovative techniques into the workflow.
• Work closely with the distributed teams and stakeholders to ensure the data infrastructure decisions factor the interests and data goals of the company and its partners.
• Advocate for data science and analytics principles/best-practices in design/requirements discussions with customers.
• Engage with stakeholders to understand their needs and tailor visualizations accordingly.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in Data Science.
• Working knowledge and understanding of supervised and unsupervised learning algorithms such as regression, classification, clustering, and dimensionality reduction.
• Experience with Large and Small Language models, Vision models, Prompt and Context engineering.
• Experience with advanced techniques like deep learning, reinforcement learning, and natural language processing (NLP).
• Experience with ML libraries and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, XGBoost).
• Strong foundation in statistical methods, hypothesis testing, and experimental design.
• Proficiency with Data Visualization tools like Tableau, QuickSight, Power BI, QlikView, or D3.js.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex data and produce actionable insights.
• Experience with AWS data and analytics technologies including EMR, Redshift, SageMaker, Comprehend, QuickSight, Glue, and S3.
• Proficiency in Python and/or R for data analysis and ML development.
• Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Information Systems required.
• This federal program requires the candidates to be a United States Citizen.
• Must have a current CBP BI clearance or be eligible to obtain one.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Solid ability to interface, inspire and motivate at various levels of the organization.
• Ability to convey technical information to non-technical individuals.
• Demonstrated experience communicating effectively across internal and external organizations.
Preferred:
• Master's degree is preferred.
