Job description

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the overall systems infrastructure including engineering, implementation and integration, and technical services and support.
  • Designs, implements, installs, maintains, and administers infrastructures including hardware, software, and various configurations.
  • Monitors overall performance to proactively identify potential issues and tune appropriately.
  • Performs root cause analysis on failed components and implements corrective measures.
  • Works with others to establish and improve processes and procedures.
  • Performs work with a high degree of latitude.
  • Handles the most complex issues.
  • May act as a lead.
  • Technical subject matter expert in ICS and BAS network/system design and operations for large scale commercial and/or federal facilities utilizing automated tools to manage critical infrastructure.
  • Designs, implements, documents, secures, and operates non-standard networks and the systems that reside on the networks.
  • Responsible for analyzing requirements and designing modernized networks and systems meeting industry standards. Responsible for successful operations and maintenance of all non-standard IT systems assigned to include database administration, system administration, system security, and system configuration to meet best optimization.
  • Responsible for all system components continuing to function normally through system maintenance, upgrade, and testing.
  • Ensures system and process documentation is complete and up to date for every aspect of operational applications, services, or environments as an official reference artifact. Evaluates analytically and systematic problems with workflow, system configuration, and planning resulting in the development of appropriate corrective action.

Qualifications
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance is required for consideration.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical discipline. Education substitution requires 10+ years' proven specialized experience supporting or leading IT network systems O&M with system architecture and engineering experience for on-premises environments.
  • 8+ years specialized experience supporting or leading IT network systems O&M with system architecture and engineering experience for on-premises and/or cloud environments.
  • Expert in system and database administration able to perform backups, databasing tasks, file recovery, user access support, and independently resolving complex system or user problems under tight deadlines.
  • Experience with building and operating networks and systems responsible for managing large scale ICS and BAS elements.
  • Must possess and maintain at least one of the following certifications: Red Hat Certified System Administrator, Red Hat Certified Engineer, CompTIA Server+, CompTIA Security+, ServiceNow Certified System Administrator, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or other certifications exemplifying skill sets needed to manage the design, operations, and maintenance of IT systems.
