Details:
Sterling File Gateway Consultant
Location: Alpharetta GA - Hybrid
Duration: Full time /Direct Hire

Role description:
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the Sterling File Gateway environment.
  • Monitor and maintain system performance, security, and availability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve SFG-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute the installation and upgrades of SFG components, including Aspera, SSP/SEAS, Cipher, WAF, and MFA.
  • Perform version upgrades, patches, and system enhancements.
  • Ensure all upgrades are tested thoroughly in staging environments before deployment to production.
  • Perform regular updates and maintenance of Aspera file transfer solutions.
  • Ensure Aspera is integrated properly with SFG and other systems.
  • Manage and update Secure Proxy (SSP) and Secure External Authentication Server (SEAS).
  • Implement and test SSP/SEAS updates and patches.
  • Perform regular updates to the cipher suites used in SFG to ensure compliance with security policies.
  • Monitor encryption protocols and update configurations as necessary.
  • Administer and upgrade the Web Application Firewall (WAF) to protect SFG from external threats.
  • Manage Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) implementations and ensure they are updated
  • Maintain detailed documentation of all installations, configurations, and upgrades.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on system performance, upgrades, and security compliance.
  • Work closely with the security, network, and application teams to ensure seamless integration and performance of SFG.
  • Provide training and support to internal teams on SFG operations and best practices.

Required
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in SFG administration, installation, and upgrades.
  • Proven experience with Aspera, SSP/SEAS, Cipher, WAF, and MFA upgrades and administration.
  • In-depth knowledge of Sterling File Gateway (SFG).
  • Strong understanding of file transfer protocols (FTP, SFTP, HTTP, HTTPS).
  • Experience with Linux/Unix systems.
  • Proficiency in security protocols and encryption technologies.
  • Familiarity with network configurations and firewalls.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on security and compliance.
