Process Support 2nd Shift 

Are you looking to make a direct impact on production excellence while working with cutting-edge automation? As an Operations Technician, you will own the effective operation, repair, and changeover of production equipment to ensure we deliver high-quality products safely and efficiently. You will drive continuous improvement by collaborating with cross-functional teams and interacting with advanced robotics. This role offers you the unique opportunity to be a technical leader on the floor, fostering a team environment where your ideas for process design and problem-solving truly matter.

 
Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, and perform changeovers of automated and manual equipment throughout the production facility through computer terminals, control panels, tablets and/or by manual means.
  • Unload ingredients and packaging materials.  Interacts with auto-guided vehicles (AGV) and automated robots (AMRs) for putaway and staging of items for end use.    
  • Monitor quality sampling when taken by a cobot or robot.  Where sampling is not automated, take samples manually and documents as required.  Reacts appropriately to ensure Quality compliance of product. 
  • Assist maintenance personnel with troubleshooting, completes autonomous maintenance activities and performs simple repairs on production equipment.
  • Perform Sanitation activities as per established protocol and conducts/participates in area housekeeping assessments per requirement.
  • Work with other employees on continuous improvement projects and process design.
  • Understand and comply with Hill’s policies, Safety standards, Good Manufacturing  Practices (GMPs) and Food Safety.
  • Identify, report, and seek resolution for issues around Food Safety, Quality, Safety, etc.
  • Foster an environment that values teamwork and sharing of ideas, work, etc.

 
Required Education/ Experience Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform manual repairs and equipment adjustments.
  • Proficient computer skills, including the ability to input and retrieve data from various manufacturing systems and digital platforms. 

 
Preferred Education/ Experience Qualifications:

  • Technical college/vocational certificate or Associate’s degree in a manufacturing-related field.
  • Experience in the CPG or food manufacturing industry
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
  • Food safety experience
  • SAP experience
  • Teamwork and strong interpersonal skills
  • Self directed with results oriented attitude
  • Ability to drive a forklift
  • Military experience

No smoking or other use of tobacco products (including, but not limited to, cigarettes, e-cigarettes or vaping devices, pipes, cigars, snuff, or chewing tobacco) is permitted in any part of the building, facility or in vehicles owned, leased, or rented by the Company.

Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $ - $ USD
Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.
Benefits: Salaried employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid parental leave, disability coverage, and participation in the 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements. Additional benefits include a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employee's hire date within the calendar year). Paid sick leave is adjusted based on role and location in accordance with local laws. Detailed information regarding paid sick leave entitlements will be provided to employees upon hiring and may be subject to adjustments based on changes in legislation or company policies.
