Job description

Join Our Team!
Join the Applejack by ABC team! The Area Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring our retail store locations are safe, fully operational, and well maintained for both team members and guests.
This is a field-based position that combines hands-on technical work with proactive maintenance planning and close collaboration with store leadership.
In this role, you will support three Applejack Wine & Spirits retail locations by performing routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building systems. You will address immediate repair needs while also identifying preventive maintenance opportunities to support uninterrupted store operations.
Location & Schedule
This position operates from the Wheat Ridge location and supports three assigned retail store locations: Wheat Ridge, Thornton, and Colorado Springs.
The Area Maintenance Technician maintains a regular on-site presence, including weekly visits to each location, with additional travel between sites as needed based on maintenance priorities.
Schedule: Monday-Friday. This position also requires availability to respond to after-hours and weekend emergency maintenance needs, as part of the role.
Essential Job Functions & Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular inspections of assigned store locations to assess facility conditions and system performance
  • Maintain and repair HVAC systems, including diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues
  • Perform minor electrical repairs, including replacement of outlets, switches, lighting fixtures, ballasts, fuses, and cords
  • Complete minor plumbing repairs, including leak repair, faucet replacement, and drain maintenance
  • Perform minor carpentry, painting, and masonry work as needed
  • Identify preventive maintenance needs and develop appropriate repair action plans
  • Communicate repair priorities, timelines, and status updates with store managers and leadership
  • Document completed work and maintain accurate maintenance records
  • Order parts and maintain appropriate inventory levels
  • Respond to after-hours and weekend emergency maintenance needs as required
  • Maintain company vehicle, tools, and work areas in a clean and safe condition
  • Comply with all safety policies, procedures, and operational standards
  • Attend required meetings and training sessions
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 4 years of facility maintenance experience
  • Minimum 5 years of HVAC experience
  • EPA certification required
  • Clean DMV driving record required
  • Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and building systems
  • Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, operating manuals, and technical procedures
  • Strong troubleshooting, organization, and time management skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.
