  • Translate customer and internal requirements into structured testing plans; direct and review technician testing activities
  • Analyze test data using statistical methods and present clear technical conclusions to stakeholders
  • Lead red-flag and predictive testing to assess product performance and qualification risk
  • Conduct failure analysis to determine root cause and recommend corrective actions; collaborate with design engineers through design iterations
  • Balance performance, cost, and schedule through cross-functional coordination; maintain project schedules and stakeholder updates
  • Prepare technical reports and documentation for internal teams and external customers
  • Mentor engineers and technicians; contribute to conference papers, publications, and patents as opportunities arise
Required Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline (Mechanical, Materials, or Chemical Engineering preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in fiber optic or telecommunications systems, including testing and development
  • Proven ability to independently lead technical projects from planning through execution
  • Experience analyzing test data, applying statistical methods, and determining next development steps
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills; ability to convey complex technical concepts to varied audiences
  • Proven track record working effectively across cross-functional engineering and business teams
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Nice to Have
  • Working knowledge of fiber optic connectors, ferrules, assemblies, and optical test methods
  • Hands-on experience with advanced metrology or vision measurement systems, optical test equipment, or environmental chambers
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers or technical staff
  • Technical publication, conference presentation, or patent contribution experience
What We Offer
  • Competitive base salary with performance-based bonus potential
  • 4 weeks of PTO, plus holidays and employee recognition programs
  • Health, dental, and vision plans
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan with employer match
  • Collaborative, team-based culture that fuels innovation
  • Community engagement and STEM outreach opportunities
