  • Build and maintain relationships with local community organizations, providers, faith leaders, and wellness professionals
  • Support small community education sessions focused on lupus awareness and general information about clinical trial participation as a care option
  • Share resources that help community members understand their health options and next steps
  • Keep a simple log of outreach activities and engagement to track progress
  • Stay in regular communication with our program team on what you're seeing and hearing in the field

What We're Looking For

  • Bilingual - English and Spanish required
  • Genuine passion for health equity and community wellness
  • Familiarity with lupus - either personal, professional, or through community experience
  • Comfortable engaging with members of the public in community settings - warm, approachable, and a natural connector
  • Self-directed and organized - able to manage your own schedule and report your activity independently
  • Comfortable with basic digital tools (email, Google Docs or similar)

Preferred:

  • Community health worker (CHW) certification or background in community health, social work, public health, or patient advocacy
  • Existing relationships with community organizations, churches, health providers, or wellness spaces in the Miami area
  • Prior experience with health fairs, patient education outreach, or community-based health programs
  • Experience with lupus or other autoimmune conditions

Schedule & Compensation

  • Hours: Approximately 20 hours per week, flexible scheduling
  • Rate: $25.00 per hour
  • Classification: Independent Contractor (1099) - you are responsible for your own taxes
  • Location: Greater Miami area - Hialeah, Miami Lakes, Miami, Miami Gardens, Aventura, and surrounding communities
  • Duration: August through December 2026, with potential for extension
