BASIC PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

JOB SUMMARY: Supports church membership, assimilation, baptism coordination, and guest engagement efforts through communication, event coordination, volunteer support, and administrative management. Maintains accurate ministry records, assists with ministry planning and reporting, and partners with staff to help guests and members connect within the church community.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Membership & Assimilation

  • Coordinate all processes related to new member onboarding, membership classes, and member assimilation.
  • Communicate with guests and prospective members regarding church membership and next steps.
  • Prepare, organize, and support Membership Classes, including materials, attendance, follow-up, and class logistics.
  • Process membership applications and maintain accurate records within Ministry Platform.
  • Partner with ministry staff to help guests and new members connect to serving opportunities and small groups.
  • Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers supporting membership and assimilation efforts.

Baptism Coordination

  • Coordinate all baptism-related communication, scheduling, applications, and events for children, students, and adults.
  • Support individuals pursuing baptism by providing guidance or arranging pastoral meetings as needed.
  • Organize and oversee baptism services and events, including preparation, volunteer coordination, and follow-up.
  • Maintain accurate baptism records within Ministry Platform.

Sunday & Guest Experience

  • Assist with Sunday morning guest engagement and volunteer coordination.
  • Partner with ministry staff to identify and connect new guests within the church community.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Maintain membership and baptism records, reports, and ministry databases with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Generate reports, dashboards, and ministry updates as requested.
  • Assist with annual budget oversight and ministry planning.
  • Attend and participate in all regular ministry staff meetings, quarterly church staff meetings, staff retreats, training, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Support the Senior Pastor and all other church staff.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent ministry, administrative, or nonprofit experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in ministry support, church administration, guest services, event coordination, or related organizational roles.
  • Experience coordinating volunteers, events, or ministry processes preferred.
  • Must be a member of Johnson Ferry Baptist Church or willing to pursue membership.

PHYSCIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods of standing and sitting. Sitting at a desk or working on a computer.
  • Ability to work in both outdoor and indoor environments.
  • Must be able to lift 15-20 pounds at times.
