Job Title:Oak Ridge Weekday Preschool Director 
Reports To: Oak Ridge Campus Pastor 
Time Status: Full Time
Classification: Director
Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. 
 
Job Summary:
The Oak Ridge Weekday Preschool Director will oversee the daily operation of the Preschool program in accordance with established guidelines, supporting the mission of Grace Baptist Church. The Director must help facilitate positive relationships and coordinate efforts among the Preschool staff, parents, and church staff. Bringing up children in the Christian faith is a vital ministry at Grace Baptist Church. 
 
Weekday Preschool Director Responsibilities:
 
· Maintain a professional appearance, attitude, and work ethic at all times.
· Interview, train, supervise, and evaluate staff and volunteers.
· Schedule substitutes as needed to maintain the required staffing for each classroom.
· Conduct staff meetings as needed to keep staff informed of program updates.
· Evaluate and select a program curriculum that best meets the needs of preschoolers.
· Develop and implement program policies and procedures.
· Establish clear, open communication with parents and staff, demonstrating strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
· Administer program records, including preschooler and personnel files, staff timecards, tuition payments and deposits, budget oversight, procurement of supplies, and other administrative duties necessary to maintain compliance with church, local, and state policies and licensure requirements.
· Coordinate preparation of the annual budget and routine or special reports as requested. Assist the church’s financial office with receipts and required financial documentation.
· Monitor classrooms and serve as a teacher when a substitute is not available.
· Participate in the development and assessment of annual goals and objectives for the PDO program.
· Direct all aspects of emergency preparedness, including safety checks and recall procedures.
· Other duties as assigned.
Additional Director Responsibilities
  • Respond to program inquiries and conduct tours for prospective families.
  • Greet parents and children each morning and afternoon.
  • Edit and maintain the Employee Handbook and train staff on policies and procedures.
  • Edit and maintain the Parent Handbook and enrollment forms.
  • Assign weekly Bible story curriculum topics.
  • Review and approve weekly teacher lesson plans; assist with the development of age-appropriate classroom activities.
  • Prepare and distribute a monthly program newsletter.
  • Attend church staff or business meetings as requested.
Daily & Operational Tasks
  • Build relationships and maintain regular communication with parents.
  • Purchase snacks for classrooms.
  • File daily sign-in sheets.
  • Accept payments and complete deposit records.
  • Maintain preschool bulletin boards.
  • Decorate and take down preschool areas for holidays.
  • Keep classroom and supply inventory stocked and organized.
  • Print daily sign-in sheets.
  • Enter new children into the system and create personal files and ProCare accounts.
  • Make copies for teachers as needed.
  • Submitting FMX requests when needed.
 
Spiritual and Professional Qualifications:
 
·       Must be a follower of Jesus Christ and have a lifestyle that demonstrates biblical integrity.
·       A member of Grace Baptist Church preferred. (Must be an active member of a church of like faith). 
·       Committed to Biblical tithing (a minimum of 10% of gross income).
·       A demonstrated ability to maintain sensitive, confidential information.
·       Ability to perform services independently, without direct supervision, as well as work cohesively within a team environment.
·       A positive attitude at all times and poise under pressure.
·       Knowledge and principles of preparing correspondence, forms, reports, etc.
·       Knowledge of principles and procedures of record-keeping and filing systems.
·       High attention to detail and accuracy with complete follow-through.
·       Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
·       Basic understanding of office organization, operations, office equipment, and methods. 
·       Excellent organizational skills.
·       Good English, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary skills.
